“No! No!” Juan cried. “He’s taking you away because you stole his
horse and he’s going to hang you.”
Gaby hugged the trembling little boy. “No, Juan, that’s not true.
Senor Cabrillo isn’t going to hang me.”
“Yes, he is,” Juan insisted. “Pablo says all horse thieves get
hanged.”
“I’m not a horse thief.”
Juan pulled himself away from her. “But Senor Cabrillo thinks you are.
He’ll take you to the big tree at the end of town and hang you there.”
Gaby’s mother began to cry and her sisters soon followed. The young
woman took Juan by the hand, grabbed the black shawl bundled with her few
clothes and meager possessions and ordered the others to follow.
Rafael was standing next to Bella speaking with Padre Jose when the
Alvardo family with Gaby in the lead, emerged from around the corner of the
church,
“Ay de mi,” the padre said,
crossing himself.
Rafael smiled. “You appear to cross yourself whenever Gaby is near,
Padre. Does she require that much help from above?”
The padre raised his head toward heaven and nodded.
Gaby stopped in front of Rafael. Even though she was just shy of six
inches over five feet, she still had to tilt her head back to meet his eyes.
She paused a moment, realizing for the first time just how handsome the
ranchero was. His complexion was touched with the deep richness of days spent
in the sun, and his eyes… Gaby stared. The strange blue color scorched like a
hot blue sun.
“Did you want something, Gaby?”
His voice was deep and smooth like a warm caress that lingers and
leaves a tingle along the flesh. “Yes,” she said a bit more boldly then she
intended.
“What is it?’ he asked with a sternness that brooked no disrespect.
My Review:
|
Untamed Fire blew me away there's nothing better than reading a great sexy romance book. Gaby Alvarado was my best friend from the beginning to end, never letting anyone treat her bad, and speaking her mind! Even if it meant it would get her in trouble. To be honest she actually reminded me of myself I stand up for myself no matter what. I loved her quirkiness, honesty and her confidence, all of them being amazing qualities. She wasn't afraid of saying what was on her mind! That was brave of her and it made you grow more and more fond of her throughout the book. Her relationship with Rafael reminded me a little bit about about Romeo and Juliet only the forbidden love part. They were from different societies and it was an obstacle that stopped them from wanting to act on they're feelings. Rafael was a strong male character, he put up with so much and never gave up. He was determined to get Gaby to follow his orders, even if more than half of the time she really didn't. I will say that although I really liked the characters I'm still a bit iffy about Rafael he was so darn sweet half of the time but he was really harsh most of the time I get that deep down he was hurting but I felt like he was always mad for no reason when he shouldn't have been. But all in all I love him. The author described everything right to the bone I absolutely enjoyed the writing style, especially because some of it was in spanish, it made the storyline seem way more breath taking. I felt so many emotions while reading it it seemed so real. I thought Rosalita was the sweetest person ever when she came into the story i thought oh no this girl is going to be a horrible person but i was wrong. I was left wanting more in the end, not only from Rosalita but also from Rafael and Gaby. I don't know what else to say about this book all i know is that i loved it way more than words can explain! Another book to add to my re-read list 5/5 stars.

Spending the day with sexy, hot heroes can be trying on the nerves not to mention the libido. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Its kind of a dream job, and one I thoroughly enjoy. But sexy, hot heroes have issues that have to be dealt with and they can be demanding about it. Especially when you're dealing with more than one.
I deal with three to four sexy, hot heroes in one day, From the hero in my WIP, to the book I'm editing and future heroes that insist on being recognized, and what do they all want to talk about... Women and sex. They're adamant about what they want in their women, so you know I have to mess with them and and toss in women that they never thought would suit them. They get annoyed at me and even more annoyed when it comes to sex. Either I'm not getting to the sex scene fast enough or they're not getting enough of it.
So how do I handle my sexy hot heroes when they do that to me? I write sex scenes that surprise the hero and have them hanging all over my shoulder smiling. Of course they have to add they're own two cents and I do welcome it since they usually provide me with some great love scenes.
What I enjoy the most is when they start talking about love. They all have different views on it. Some heroes are eager to fall in love others reluctant and some feel unworthy, but all of them agree on one thing... They will protect the women they love with their lives. And to love that deeply and so strongly in itself is sexy.
I have to admit that I've had some sexy, hot heroes that have failed to make the cut. They were gorgeous in my minds eye, hard bodies and stunning looks but as i got to know them they had no depth of character, not a bit of substance, and so they never made it as a hero.
Sexy, hot heroes aren't all about looks . It takes a lot to more than that to make a hero sexy and hot. Respect, integrity, thoughtfulness, especially during those times he seems like an overbearing brut, you need to see that love is driving him or he's no hero at all.
My hero in Untamed Fire, Raphael Cabrillo, can appear a brut at times, but there are reasons for his tyrannical nature. His station in life calls for certain expectations and duties, and then there us the incident in his past that has made him a bit overprotective. But he's a man that loves deeply and that means everything to him.
I love spending the day with my sexy, hot heroes. It's the best job ever!
