Review and Thoughts

Megan is heartbroken and lonely, not only did she have to kill her friend who turned out to be evil. But she also lost the love of her life, the guy she thought she would be with forever. All because of one mistake she made with Cliff her undead friend. All she wants is to be normal but being a settler isn't a lifestyle choice.
Megan would give anything to have Ethan by her side, that's all she wants. And when a text message from Ethan gives her hope of what may be once again she doesn't think anything could go wrong, until someone hijacks Ethan's car and kidnaps her.
She knew she wasn't ever going to be safe but if leaving is going to keep her loved ones safe including Ethan then why shouldn't she leave her life behind.

Can I just say I wish I was married to Ethan, oh my goodness I don't think he could get any more perfect than he already is. I just adore him so much, he is charming, protective, loveable, sweet, courageous, and a fighter.
Stacey jay is a brilliant author who never seems to disappoint me, I always enjoy her books at least the ones I have read. Her zombie books are out of this world, in the last Megan Berry book I had to basically pick my jaw off the floor because I didn't know what was going to happen I felt the desire of reading more about Megan and Ethan. Megan grows more and more after every book, her powers in this one blew me away, Cliff is a wonderful character he loves Meg so much also but deep down I think he knows that nothing can happen between them.

And when this short story came out I couldn't wait to read it, and once again I am extremely happy to have read it. It was more than I could ask for, I love how Ethan and Meg's relationship ended on a strong note and I am hopeful that this time it will last forever. Stacey has such a fantastic way of putting a story together, her writing is literally like a free pass to an endless adventure, kind of like watching a movie.
What an astounding job, I don't think I could ever get tired of her books.

When Summer Comes Blog Tour... *Review*

Review and Thoughts

Callie is given the worst news of her life she has until summer to enjoy her life and say her goodbyes. One day a stranger finds himself on her doorstep in need of help. Callie doesn't know if she should open the door but there is something about this guy that makes her happy, she didn't think he would make her days worthwhile but so far he has. Now that he's in her life She just isn't ready to say goodbye . He knows something is wrong with her but she is hoping to keep her illness a secret for as long as she can. The thing that she doesn't know is that she isn't the only one who is keeping secrets.

I laughed, I cried, I got angry and I was hurt, I felt as if I was on an emotional roller coaster in a fantastic way. Few books make me feel this way, When Summer Comes was an amazing story honestly if I could compare this book to any other book out there it would probably be The Notebook or A Walk to Remember. The reason I loved this book was because of their relationship. Especially her friends Baxter he was the one who made me smile the most, it was as if he lit up the place whenever he showed up. He's the friend I wish I had, he made me so darn happy.

Levi is such a hunk, but other than being this gorgeous guy he is such a strong, caring, loving guy who is going through so much pain and regret that he refuses to let go of. In the beginning he is portrayed as this closed off, quiet, shy, mysterious guy but as the book goes on and he starts opening up you start to figure out why he is closed off and his reason for not being able to love without having to feel guilt. Although Callie was scared of letting him in at first she learned that not everyone is a bad person, even when she found out things about him she decided not to pressure him into telling her every thing. So I liked that about their relationship cause she trusted him,

Really enjoyed it and loved it! Its another ConRom I wish was made into a movie! 5/5 stars

EXCERPT
Once at the mall, Van picked up some last minute gifts for Nikki. After trying on a few dresses,
she found a knee-length, strapless coral dress. She purchased it and was off in search of a pair
of shoes. When she found the perfect pair of coral and silver heels, Van concluded the trip to the
mall a complete success.

Her cellphone rang as she was leaving the shoe store. She dug around in her bag to find it. With
her head down and her steps brisk, she ran right into someone.

"I'm so sorry. I'm such a klutz," she said as she looked up into the brown eyes of her first love.
She gasped and took a step back, surveying him. His light brown hair was a little shorter and
he was built like a man now, not the boy she used to know. She stood frozen in place, staring
at him. This can't be happening. A tidal wave of emotions rushed through her at once. Anger,
resentment, hatred, but mainly pain…so much pain.

"Van."

"Lance? Oh my God!" She took another step back. "How?"

"I-I talked to Nikki. She told me you would be here. I needed to see you. When I heard what
happened…" He paused. "I knew I couldn't stay away any longer. I'm so sorry."

The more he talked, the more Van's anger flared. Who does he think he is? He left me! Turned
his back on me when he cut all ties!

"What exactly are you sorry for, Lance? That my husband died or that you broke my heart all
those years ago?" The words she spoke were full of acid. "You have a lot of nerve just showing
up here like nothing ever happened. Go away." She turned to leave.

"Please, Van, just talk to me. Give me a chance to explain," he begged as he reached for her
hand.

"Don't you dare touch me," she said through gritted teeth, yanking her hand away. "What do you
want from me?" She stared at him while plotting all the ways she was going to torture Nikki for
her betrayal.

She seethed as he looked around. "Calm down, Van. People are starting to stare. Please, can we
go somewhere more private and talk? There is so much I need to tell you."

"What could you possibly have to say to me that would make up for what you did? I mean, I
know you had to move, but you cut all ties with me. Like the three years we spent together meant
nothing to you, like I meant nothing to you. Damn you, Lance, you didn't even try to make it
work."

"Please, Savannah. Give me a chance to explain."

"Give me one reason why I should."

"Because I still love you. I. Never. Stopped. I cut all ties with you because I had to. Long
distance relationships never work out. I was afraid you would wake up one day and resent me.
Being apart from you was killing me. I thought this way we would both be able to move on. But
I was wrong, I never was able to move on. I let the love I have for you consume me. I wanted to
come back sooner, but then I heard you'd gotten married. When I found out what had happened, I
wanted to rush here and be by your side, but I figured you would need some time."

His words shocked and confused her. After she took a few moments to process everything,
she shook her head. "I can't do this." She turned and walked away, then stopped. "Go back to
wherever it was you came from and leave me alone."

"Just go away, Lance. You're good at that," she snarled before she walked away. She didn't dare
turn around because looking at him as he begged her to give him a chance to explain would
certainly weaken her. Van needed to focus on how she was going to kill her so-called best friend.

Forsaken book #2 By Heather Fleener

A gripping paranormal, mystery romance about a vampire and a witch who make a deal to work together no matter how different they are. But that will be easy considering that even though they are on different sides they have a strong connection towards each other one that leaves Ella wanting more than just a friendship.

The book was so intense in every way the action, steamy parts. I love these type of books, the author did an amazing job with the characters, the way she described everything was fantastic they weren't to long which is a plus especially because sometimes authors put to much detail into something and it takes a while to get into the book but in this case they were written beautifully. I was a bit obsessed with Cole oh my goodness when he went over to talk to Ella I stopped breathing.

The only character I didn't like very much was Lorcan I find cocky guys to be such a turn off and that's how he was he thought he was better than anyone else. But he is one of those guys that you love to hate. And I loved Dunkirk he was a great addition to the story.
Heather did an great job combining 2 different supernatural worlds into one book, she made it her own and it turned out really really great. Although I have yet to read the first one I enjoyed this one so much. I cannot wait to read the next one in the series. If only they could make this series into a tv show or movies. I'd love to see it on the big screen.

5/5 STARS!

Heather Fleener lives in Indiana with her husband, D.A. and their twins, Thomas and Alexandra. Professionally she has spent her career working in the area of Intellectual Property law.

Reading has been a passion of hers since she was young and she has been a closet-romance junkie her entire life. The romantic styles of Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood are her inspiration, though she has read and loved the stories of countless other authors. Her fascination with the paranormal began to form at the young age of six, watching late-night ghost and vampire movies with her Grandpa. Unfortunately, as a result, she also remains afraid of the dark to this day.

Combining her love of epic romances and the supernatural was a natural progression for her overactive imagination. When the idea for the Ancients of Light series began, it was an abstract story line rambling around in her head to help kill a few miles on the treadmill. As the stories and plotlines continued to grow, it finally became necessary to put the words to paper and build the characters that had been living in the Realm and having conversations in her head for months.

Ancients of Light is a series of thirteen novels - a testament to many miles on the treadmill and lots of characters that insist on having their stories told.

The Beast Within By Jonathan Yanez

Review and thoughts

Definitely what I was expecting loved the book and the creative writing the description were a bit short but the book was perfect. It was a fast read so you really get into in and once there you are hooked. What got me to read the book was mostly thanks to the synopsis, it was one of those storylines that no one can pass on. Especially because you will love the characters and the plot.
But there was something about Katie I didn't like I don't know what it was I'm guessing its got to do with her breaking up with Connor, cause honestly breakups suck.
As soon as he met Laren I knew that something was going to happen, I just love books that have to do with forbidden love and creatures especially if there is some mystery to it to. I did not find the book cheesy or way to sweet, as I sometimes find that authors over do it. It's rough around the edges but has enough emotion to soften it up a bit.
I loved the book it was fantastic and fun to read. And the cover is amazing 5/5 stars

Russian Dolls By Cristelle Comby Review/Interview

When an unexpected death hits close to home, Neve is overcome with denial. She doesn't want to believe that her friend who loved life and always had a smile on her face has committed suicide, but the police cannot find any evidence to prove otherwise. So Neve decides to conduct her own investigation as she is  certain that Irina didn't commit suicide but that Irina was well in fact murdered. Along with the help of her professor she goes on a hunt to find out the truth behind Irina's murder.

A five star mystery that can't be put down. Its like watching a TV show you cannot just leave it playing when you leave the room cause you might miss something. Russian dolls was amazing the writing was perfect, the plot was in a way unique since the student was helped by a teacher usually teachers don't let you get into anything dangerous but this was not the case . The only flaw that I found was that Neve kind of caved in way to quickly I mean she blurted everything out. But other than that it was a really really great read.

Neve and Egan were amazing characters, Neve really amazed me when she took control of the situations she showed how brave she was just by going in there and facing those guys. Finding out who was involved was like a slap to the face it literately took me by surprise because I kinda knew but I didn't want to believe it. I can't stop thinking about the ending, It's hard to review this book without giving away spoilers because every piece of info would be part of a spoiler so I will stop the gushing now and rate! 5/5

Interview

Why did you name the book Russian Dolls?
It came up pretty naturally, as I was figuring out the plot. I knew the Russian Mafia would be involved, and that it would broach on the subject of prostitution and forced marriage... and from there the idiom ‘Russian Dolls’ stuck.

Was there a certain character in the book that reminded you of yourself?
I guess a part of myself inevitably ends up in everything I write. That being said, none of the characters were modelled after me per se. I suppose that Egan’s collectedness is an exaggeration of my own; Neve’s strong-mindedness too... it’s just little titbits dropped, unconsciously, here and there.

What advice would you give to someone who wanted to write a book?
Go for it and don’t let anyone stop you! Write what you want, the way you want to. It’s a hard job, it will take you a lot of time and a lot of sweat and headaches, but you’ll get there eventually. It may take months to find an agent, you may never find one, either way... don’t ever give up. It’s your dream and the only one who can kill it is yourself, so... don’t!

Tell us something that the readers don't know about you.
I’ve studied stage-acting for seven years, when I was younger.

Virtual Book Tour Grim by Joseph Spencer; Review & Blog Post

Adam heard a few sounds of Velcro peeling from its straps. Suddenly, Black Mask shed the mystery and ambiguity of his head gear. He became another mystery altogether. What happened to this guy? He looked like he’d seen hell, escaped, and doctored his face to give everyone else on Earth a preview.
Black Mask obviously suffered from rosacea because his skin was inflamed, swollen, and the angriest shade of red Adam had ever seen. A jagged circular scar similar to a clock face ran from Black Mask’s forehead down his cheeks to his chin. A vertical scar ran straight down the middle of his forehead and along the bridge of his nose. Two horizontal scars extended from the side of his nose and curved upward toward the temples. Two additional scars extended outward at angles from just under his nose, across his lips and ended on either side of his chin. All of the scars connected to the outer circular one like spokes to resemble a starfish shape. Adam struggled not to have any reaction, but failed to keep the corner of his mouth from inching up into a grimace.
Black Mask smirked and put his right hand up to his face. He pretended to be admiring himself in the mirror. “It’s okay, Detective. Your reaction is fairly common and a lot more subdued than most. Of course, I bet you’ve seen a lot of horrors in your line of work.
“So, you want to know the tale of Heath Grim, do you?”

Review and thoughts

Grim blew me away, the whole entire time I was reading it I thought I was watching a movie. Especially with all the thriller and suspense parts, It was an easy read but it does feel like its a long book only because Mr. Spencer added so much detail and depth into the characters and pretty much everything else that would get your imagination going. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would, Once you get about 15 pages into the book you sort of get glued to it or basically go into the book yourself. Grim is one of those books that you can't put down and once you finish it you want to start it over again, the storyline was amazing. Anyone who loves to read Paranormal crime thrillers will be so intrigued by the synopsis.. Well more for what is in the pages, this was a first for me because I have never come across something like this. I would definitely chip in money just to get this to be made into a movie, and to see the characters come to life. It sure is movie worthy in my opinion. My favorite character would have to be Heath i have no Idea why but I liked him alot more maybe because he was a bit creepy. All in all it was a fantastic read which left me wanting more so that is always a great thing.  5 stars

Keys to a great book cover
Like it or not, readers make judgments all the time on appearances. The greatest cover in the world can’t save a terrible novel, but several great novels experienced sales lags from covers which lacked imagination.  Think of a book cover as one of your strongest sales pitches to the marketplace.
You wouldn’t go to a bar looking for a date in your pajamas, so why would you go through all of the work of writing a novel only to come off as a wallflower on the bookshelf? Your book cover should be your best attention grab while also making a promise to the reader as to what they can expect from the content on the inside.
With that in mind, here are a few keys to a great book cover.
1.      Your title
You need something easy for the reader to remember in case they aren’t able to purchase the book right away. Make sure it conveys your message and fits the cover art design. Try not to get too caught up in creating a clever title, when something simpler would be more effective. Being too creative often interferes with a clear, concise message.

2.     The subtitle
This should further clarify your title or help the reader identify if this is part of a series. This is also a good place to insert searchable keywords for search engine marketing.

3.     Cover design and layout
The font and style of your title should be easy to read, and the artwork should be compelling and grab the reader’s eye. Picture yourself in the bookstore buying a book. You want your book to be the one which stands out. You have to choose a strong image which is eye catching. Be careful that the image doesn’t overwhelm the title.

4.     Back cover
This should summarize your novel in a few concise paragraphs, and tease readers with the tantalizing conflict which lies in store for them on the inside. Avoid making this a table of contents section or an explanation of why you wrote the book. This should work like a great advertisement.

5.     Endorsements
Readers trust names they know. So, if you can get a big name author or critic to endorse your work, it will go a long way in helping boost your sales. If the endorsement is from a big enough celebrity, you may want to consider including it on your front cover.

6.     Author Bio
You want to introduce yourself and win readers over with your accomplishments. Try to keep this brief with about three sentences providing your background.
