Florence by Ciye Cho

What if there was life underwater that we didn't know about? Not just fishes and whales but actual beings that look like half people half fish?
Well Florence was the first person to actually see it with her own eyes. She cannot explain what is going on or how she got underwater, and she can breathe. How is that even possible? She was obviously kidnapped, but -what for- is still a question that she wants answered. Not only is she surrounded by merman and mermaids but she isn't being aloud to return to the human world. And to make matters worse she and the mers are in danger and the one behind it might even be someone she had started getting closer to.

Review and thoughts

I fell in love with this book it started out amazing and not only that but it got right into the action, which is always a plus. It was a fantastic storyline that was fast paced and well put together. The characters were great as well, I enjoyed reading about Florence, Yolee, Kiren, and Rolan. They were all pretty much a great addition to the story. And although the book is full of suspense, and action it also has some romance in it.

You have fun while reading this book, you basically get sucked into this magical world where you discover something new everyday. It's as if you were in the book yourself experiencing all the things that Florence did. I loved the creativeness that was put into the book, sometimes I am stunned by the books I have read in the past, especially because authors blow you off your feet with their books.

Florence in my opinion was surprisingly brave, if I was her it would have taken me a couple weeks to get over how crazy it was that she was able to breathe underwater and also that they existed. You can tell alot of effort was put into this book and It was just perfection. Not to mention the fantastic ending which obviously ended in a cliffhanger, it was so so good. I am anxious to find out what is going to happen in the next one. I recommend this book to those who have not read it yet. So if you have been planning on reading but have been putting it on hold, this can be the little push you need to read it as soon as possible.
